March 13, 2008

Dear Methodist Healthcare Team Member,For the second year in a row, Methodist Boerne Medical Center will be offering two $1,500 scholarships to Boerne High School students graduating this spring and planning to pursue a career in health care. If you have a child at Boerne High School who is graduating this spring and wants to pursue a health care career, please encourage them to apply. You may also pass this letter and application along to any student you know who fits the criteria. As technological advances help to extend the life expectancy of Americans, there is a growing need for health care professionals in every field from physicians and nurses to laboratory and radiology technicians. In an effort to meet the health care demands of the future, we want to encourage young people to seek careers in health care. An application, transcript and essay are required and must be postmarked by March 28, 2008. Scholarship recipients will be notified shortly thereafter.

As you know, we proudly opened the Methodist Boerne Emergency Center this past January. This is the first center of its kind in the region to offer round-the-clock emergency care services for people of all ages in need of emergency medical treatment. This is a first-class facility with a top-notch staff that stands ready to serve you, your family and neighbors.

It is a pleasure to be part of the Boerne community and we look forward to helping our next generation of health care professionals.

Sincerely,

Dean M. Alexander
