Relay for Life is an American Cancer Society activity in which teams of people dedicate their time and much-needed funds to fight cancer and raise awareness. Teams walk or run on paths overnight having a representative on the path at all times during the event. Millions of people participate in this life-changing event to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost to cancer and fight back in hopes that someday cancer will be eliminated. Methodist Boerne Emergency Center joined the Relay for Life wearing individually designed hats to symbolize the best and the brightest at Boerne.

An A+ Experience

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding care I received at the Boerne Emergency Care Unit on March 24. If I was given a rating sheet for the Boerne ER, there would be A+’s for knowledge, courtesy, care, equipment, cleanliness and anything else that need grading. Thanks to all of the crew on the morning shift of the 24th. In site of the outstanding care, I really would rather not be a repeat customer.

(Congratulations to Mike Eaton, RN, Kim Johnson, RN, Joanna Vineyard, RN, Steve Horowitz, radiology, and Beth Helminink, laboratory, for making the grade!)

Serving Humanity to Honor God

As a result of a fall in our home, Clarence needed medical attention/evaluation because his hip area was extremely painful and seemed to be getting worse. Presenting ourselves at the ER entrance to Methodist Boerne Medical Clinic, we started a process about which we had serious tredipidation. We should not have worried! Clarence, at age 74, was insecure about where this falling episode might lead, he had real pain and was confused. Ms. Huss, he now believe that this encounter could not have been better. On this occasion, your team of professionals certainly reached your motto: Serving Humanity to Honor God.

(Treating Clarence were Tracey Bridges, RN, Pam Davis, RN, and Robert Murgo, Radiology.)
